Today's picture is the US Support Kits primary weapon, the M249 SAW. Cable of killing several enemy soldiers with one clip, this gun must be used in a prone position for increased accuracy. At least drop to one knee, as the recoil is crazy with this weapon. You'll find many "spawn campers" using this weapon, due to its ammo clip size, and the fact the kit comes with an auto-healer as well. More information on the M249 SAW can be found here-----> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M249_SAWPretty Sweet Clip of the M249 in action. Just noticed that embedding was disabled, just click the link within the video window that states "watch on youtube"

By the way, you might want to add that the SAW is the EU Support Kit's main weapon, too. Your sorta close. The EU does not use the SAW. They use the PKM, but the PKM IS shared with the MEC side. Chinese and US have different guns. Didn't want to give them away so I just scanned the page from the Prima Guide and trimmed out the EU section. Btw, I do like and appreciate the in-game version pictures for the POTDs. Anytime scoper or I post a POTD, please feel free to continue posting those pictures!

can't tell how much i hate this gun it is damn accurate when the shooter is in prown I never, EVER used to use the support kit at all. Spec Ops is my favorite kit, but since I started playing again, the support kit is quickly on it's way to being my favorite. Once I got my aiming under control, this thing is a fucking beast! The biggest issue I had was when in the heat of a battle, I forget to just tap R1 instead of laying full auto. This made all the difference in the world. Also something I never noticed with the support kit, is within in the aiming reticule, there will be a semi-transparent white circle that fills the reticule as your firing, the fuller the reticule, the more off aim the gun is due to recoil. I don't know HOW the fuck I've NEVER noticed that. But if you can keep a calm trigger finger and live by that circle, you'll be pwning with that kit in no time. At least, that's how it worked out for me. Just keep in mind, I think it only takes 2-3 solid shots to drop them, and even though you may be taking damage, if you can hold out the 1/4-1/2 second for the recoil circle to go down, your next shot should be solid, and than just heal yourself!

They have the M249 SAW in COD4. This thing is a beast. Throw a Red dot sight on that baby and it's pure pwnage. ;D I never liked the machine gun in BF until about a year ago when I found the same thing Jackyl did. Oh and Jackyl, I may not comment on all the pictures you post but I see ALL of them and your Karma seem to go up every time I look at them. Keep em coming.

The spec ops kit in it's entirety really. People always say the flash bangs are worthless, but I find many uses for them, and they have saved my ass a many times. And I'm a booby trap master with the C4, I seem to be able to read people's minds on where they are going to go or how they will follow. When I first used to play, I used to just spend rounds going to enemy bases and doing behind the lines equipment demolition. Deny them heavy artillery consistently through out a round seems to help, lol.

I'm afraid the guide is wrong in that point. The EU Support Kit shares the M249 SAW with the US Support Kit. MEC uses the PKM and PLA uses the QJY-88. I'll try to get a picture tonight as proof. Thanks in regards to the pictures! I enjoy reading and looking at these POTDs and I like to contribute.

I've had MANY games on the Nest where I don't leave flag 5 at all. I just bobby trap it with C4 or Land Mines and wait for some dumb fool to come wandering up the stairs.

I believe there are slight differences like that between BF2 on the PC and BF2:MC port on the consoles. Try and find some MC pictures.

Heh, by "I'll try to get a picture tonight as proof", I mean I'll whip out my camera while playing online. ;D And all the pictures I've posted so far are from MC; most are from the Xbox360 version, though.
