Hey guys.
I am using, at the time, the world's first dual-core smartphone, the LG G2x.
I bought it because the entire chipset, (cpu, gpu, ram/rom) is made entirely by nVidia. This chipset is called the nVidia Tegra 2. There is now the Tegra 3 which is just as amazing.
The Tegra chipset is able to play HD games, as well as supporting 1920x1080 for video capture and playback in 1080p HD.
It's a 1Ghz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM.
I'm running Android gingerbread OS 2.3.7.
My phone is rooted, which is so awesome with any android device. Rooting is the equliavent of modding a game console. I can now run custom ROMs.
ROMs are different Android operating systems hacked and tweaked by a regular person just like you or I.
There is risk involved in rooting your device, buy the pros greatly outweigh the cons.
I can now flash my phone with different operating systems, so even though LG is not going to release another update for my G2x, I can still flash over and run the latestet OS that people have modded to run on my device. So I can run the newest version such as ICS or JB. (Icecream sandwhich 4.0.x and Jellybean 4.1.x)
From there you can tweak all kinds of settings and make your phone so much more powerful than what is is stock.
Another thing I can do now is overclock my CPU, so I can run at 1.552Ghz instead of 1.0Ghz and all I sacrifice is battery life. You can run pirated games and apps with ease, you can flash custom themes which change the entire look of your phones GUI.
If your interested in rooting I recommend checking out the XDA Developer forums here->forum.xda-developers.com/
If your phone is listed they will have step by step noob proof guides on rooting and modding as well as guides for if you fuck it up.
Look into guys and feel free to ask me any questions.
