just bought an LCD tv..
then I hear stories that lcd's may give picture lag that can effect gaming.
and that u can alter the tv setting to negate any lag
i've chnaged my picture mode to "Game"- is this likely to help or is that just about colour and contrast etc, eg like "sport" or "movie" mode?

Game is just a mode, you are correct. Like most modes, it stores user settings under each mode for quick changes. I use Game and Movie mode. Game is set for brighter contrast and brightness for playing games online where I need to be able to see everything at a distance, movie is darker to assist in cinematics when playing offline.
As far as "picture lag", I have never heard of that, and several friends play on LCD HD TVs online with no complaints. I dislike LCD and was able to get my hands on a HD CRT Flat Screen, hard to find new. Gotta find them used usually. I'll look into it.

apparently u can get picture lag when the LCD converts the input into an image. doesn't happen with HD consoles, but may effect PS2s. However, I just found this positive review about my tv, altho I got the 42 inch one, not the 32in :-) Gaming turned out to be excellent on this HDTV: the LG 32LD450 is yet another example of the perverse tradition of a company’s lower-end products being better for gaming than its more expensive screens. Lagging by just 16ms, we could effortlessly jump and blast our way around the environments in Halo: Reach without having to fight with the control pad. This excellent figure was measured with all of the 32LD450’s colour management and 10-point Greyscale correction enabled. If only the entire industry could manage this level of performance consistently, and give it to us on higher-end TVs!
