Okay I bought a new modem for online gaming, it's a Telewell TW-EA501 ADSL modem.
I've tried connecting to BF2:MC but the procedure fails when the verification for Gamespy begins. So basically, the gamespy connection can't be verified.
OK, I have these network settings on my PS2:
Hardware detection: automatic
Use of PPPoE not required
IP Address setup: Auto, no hostname
DNS server address setup: Auto

That's it. So, how do you guys connect to BF2MC? Do you have the same settings as I do or am I doing something wrong?
I searched for other information and according to the info, I should try putting in my IP address on the network setting menu on the PS2 and changing the last digit to something else, and put in everything else correctly.. (the netmask, dns addresses etc)
I also found about this DMZ thing, and according to the info, i should set up the PS2 IP as the DMZ. So how does that happen? do i go to my router settings and put in the ps2 IP as the DMZ?
Or am i supposed to open some ports for gamespy?

Update: now that i configured my ps2 network settings, i have put in my IP address (i looked it up from the pc console) but changed the last digit close to the original number, increased the number by one. I put in the netmask and the default router + the primary dns and a secondary dns.
Now it doesn't go through the dnas authentication procedure. It gives me this error code: Network error (-612). There was no response from the DNS server.
My last options are: put in my pc's hostname and set the ps2 ip as the dmz
UPDATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE: (leaving the upper bit there just in case jackyl has some ideas which could help me even more)
Got this shit finally workin, all I can see is 3* star servers, no 4 or 5 but 3 is enough. I finally stand a chance against those fuckin' Japs (no offence) and my best k/d so far is 26-9. Nothing special but still good for somebody who has lost pph just because of some fucking DCs.

had a cool time with these dudes; SoCoM_FIN, DFU-DRUNK & Call-of-Jaws, they're all finns & we had a 2 v 2 blowtorch fight & 2 v 2 knife fight + some fucking around on TheBlackGold. I also played a good game with G4H-FIREFOX & MEC.Air.Cavalry last night, we lost the first two games but then started pwning the shit out of the USA team. Cool dudes, both of them
