I though I'd make the last POTD of the year, although it has been a while since the last one was made.
The Russian PKM. The machine gun used by the MEC Support.
It was introduced in the 1960s, and it replaced the SGM & RPD machine guns in Soviet service. It was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, and the weapon is currently in service in over 30 countries.
In-game, it is known for its green magazine & the sound it makes when fired. The recoil is very high if you stand while firing, so it's best to go on your knees with this MG.
The recoil of this MG is the second highest MG recoil in the game, the Chinese QJY-88's recoil still tops it.
